The Plan

Can Vermont Make Dr. Dynasaur 2.0 Work?

Yes We Can.

And With Your Support We Will.

Vermont has received the necessary permission to expand public health care programs such as Dr. Dynasaur and other publicly funded health care programs numerous times throughout the past 25 years.

With the creation of programs such as VHAP and Catamount Health we’ve received approval in the past because it made sense, and we’re confident we can do it again.

Currently, the federal government pays for approximately 55% of the costs tied to Dr. Dynasaur.

By expanding Dr. Dynasaur and removing its income cap, the State of Vermont could seek permission from the federal government (technically called a “waiver”) to receive the additional funds necessary to cover Vermont's entire population (0-26) who fall below 400% of the federal poverty level (about $47,000/yr for a single person and $97,000/yr for a family of four).

This would drastically expand health care coverage for Vermont residents and the current limit for federal subsidies under the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare.
